Floridian artist Jack Cavanaugh, now a Los Angeles local, has been making a colorful mark on the Mar Vista Art Walk scene.  His psychedelic visual pieces and interactive art installations are vibrant, mystical and enticingly cryptic.

Cavanaugh harnesses inspiration by looking insightfully into emotive experiences.  He describes, “I get inspired by emotions and elements from life.  If I find something moving in a song or hear an interesting story,  I’ll start to see an image in my mind.”

But for this artist, the art doesn’t stop just because he’s finished a painting.  Cavanaugh speaks passionately about being moved by the ripple effect art has on communities.

He says, “Art, in my mind, is one of the most meaningful ways to spend time on earth. Having an idea, making it real, and then sharing it with others gives everyone a deep sense of purpose.”

He works to impact those around him and, in a way, pay it forward through his art where inspiration creates more inspiration.

“People can do amazing things if they are moved or inspired,” says Cavanaugh.  “What an honor it would be to help with that.  Making images that lift the viewer’s spirits, give them peace, or give them courage.”

And just like the viewers impacted by his art, his paintings tell a story of transformation. “Each painting undergoes a journey,” Cavanaugh describes, “always developing into a final piece with many sessions under the surface.”

The many lives of Jack’s paintings are prominent when you view them and tell the deep undertones of his experiences.
